Recharging your DTH plan is really easy. Just use one of the ways we outline in this article and you’re all set.
Whenever the D2H recharge plan pack validity is about to run out, the provider flashes a message on your TV screen that the recharge is now due. Or the provider will send you a reminder alert on your phone. After this, you can proceed to do the recharge connection.
If this is the first time you are about to do the DTH recharge, then there are a few options open to you. We have outlined 3 of the simplest ways to do the recharge below. But do note that whichever method you adopt, you must complete the DTH recharge within the due date or face the possibility of the connection being disconnected temporarily. All services are restored when you pay.
This is how can do the D2H recharge:
1Use the DTH provider’s smartphone app. You don’t even have to be at home in front of your TV set to do the DTH recharge. A family member can notify you about the D2H recharge date when the message flashes on the screen. Just whip out your smartphone, and flick open the DTH provider’s app to do the recharge. You’re in luck if you’re using the myAirtel app for recharge, whether you are an Airtel customer or not. You can replenish the D2H recharge plan and prepaid phone recharge, pay phone and broadband bills, and also settle utilities payments using just the one app. If you are an Airtel DTH customer, then you also get multiple quick recharge options, cashback at the time of recharge, and freedom to modify the existing pack during recharge. You can also do the recharge from the provider’s website.
2 Through UPI apps. UPI apps are fast gaining traction among phone users. They offer the most secure and simple interface for transferring payments to both individuals and companies. You can use UPI-based platforms like BHIM, Google Pay and Phone Pe to make the D2H recharge in a jiffy. Just set up the app on your phone, and transfer the recharge amount at once. The payment is processed in real time and you can continue using the D2H recharge plan as always. You also get cashback and rewards like scratch cards and offers for transacting using a UPI app.
3 Using third party payment sites.Till a few years ago, before the advent of UPI in India, several users were happy to use third party payment sites for recharging the D2H plan, or their prepaid phone connections, or even paying their phone bills. These platforms also offer cashback and discounts on DTH recharge. But some users continue to report certain kinds of technical difficulties when using these platforms – there are often server issues, or the payment is debited from the bank account but not reflected in the provider’s records, etc. Also, there may be a delay in receiving an acknowledgement of the payment.
